Our Process

Our stamping die design and build process has been automated and refined over many years. We start with our customers request for quote. We analyze our customers design standards, piece part quality requirements, yearly quantity expectations, and press assignment.

Up Front Analysis

We perform a preliminary formability study to determine the best processing plan. This upfront analysis coupled with our proprietary quoting software yields a timely, thorough, concise and accurate quotation. Each quote details over 50 items from product design formability observations and counter measures, tool size and weight, component types and styles, process plans and station operations, stock control, sensors, estimated lead times and tonnage requirements.

Design Plan & Review

We have eliminated gut feeling and experience guessing with automated engineering based methodologies.  We do an initial design kickoff meeting with all stakeholders at the beginning of the die engineering phase to cover all expectations, schedule weekly progress reports, and address any questions our customer may have. We follow with a complete die design review with all customer stakeholders before build commencement.

Build Process

Our build process begins with internal design review with purchasing, programming, and machining departments along with the primary toolmaker assigned to the project. Throughout the build process our project manager maintains consistent contact with our customer through progress, purchasing, and engineering reports.

Changes & Follow Up

Understanding engineering changes do happen whether it be product design changes, quality requirement changes, part configurations; we respond quickly with a commercial and timeline impact quotation. As we complete build and development of the tool we will do an in-house runoff and qualification of the tool and provide a quality part study for the customer. We follow-up with a home line runoff at our customer’s facility and pass all engineering related documentation to our customer. We formally follow up with a post commissioning interviews and periodic check in’s on the tool.
